The mission of the Community Health Planning and Policy Development (CHPPD) section is to develop and advocate for health planning, policies and practices that promote health planning, policies and practices that promote health equity, community empowerment and social justice.
The Community Health Planning and Policy Development (CHPPD) Section members are diverse. Section members network through member engagement, policy development, program planning and student involvement initiatives. “Community”, “Planning” and “Policy Development” are key words that draw members to the Section. We understand the importance and power of the planning and policy development in inspiring partners to collaborate to work towards eliminating disparities and promoting healthy communities in public and private venues.
Among us are advocates, consultants, evaluators, health care and community planners, epidemiologists, health educators, informatics professionals, nurses, pharmacists, philanthropists, physicians, policy analysts, program managers, public health administrators, regulators, researchers, statisticians, students, and teaching faculty. We understand the importance and power of the planning and policy development in eliminating disparities and promoting healthy communities.
