R. Gary Rozier, DDS, MPH, received the 2009 John W. Knutson Distinguished Service Award in Dental Public Health at the Oral Health Awards Ceremony on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at the APHA Annual Meeting in Philadelphia. It was a memorable evening beginning with a wonderful (and entertaining) review of Gary’s career accomplishments and life experience given by Alice Horowitz. The breadth of Gary’s accomplishments include his role as researcher and author (over 120 peer-reviewed articles), professor, editor, reviewer, panel expert, and past President of AAPHD. In his typical unassuming, low-key style, Dr. Rozier graciously accepted the Award, which was presented by Section Chair, Scott Presson. 

The evening was capped with a delightful dinner at the Greek restaurant, Estia, with 47 Oral Health Section members participating to renew friendships and enjoy the camaraderie.
