This year's Young Professional Awardee is Michael C. Lu, MD, MS, MPH -- an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the UCLA School of Medicine. He holds a joint faculty appointment in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the UCLA School of Public Health. Lu is the director of the OB/GYN residency training program at UCLA. He is also the associate director of the UCLA Child and Family Health Leadership Training Program, which provides training in maternal and child health for health professionals through a grant funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau. He also serves as the medical director of the UCLA OB/GYN Clinic and the UCLA Sexual and Reproductive Health Program, where he provides oversight of the clinical, teaching and research programs.
