The HIV/AIDS Section began this fiscal year with an operating allocation from APHA of $2,770 and a balance of $2,500 in the enrichment account.  Fiscal year to date the enrichment account has earned $82 in interest.  We received a very generous gift of $5,000 from Gilead Sciences, for a total income fiscal-year-to-date of $10,352

Expenses related to the 2007 Washington, D.C., Annual Meeting totaled $4,442, and expenses from the Section midyear meeting were $4,429.  Total expenditures, $8,871.

The actual May 31 balance for all accounts is $1,481.

The Section has received a pledged gift of $2,500 in support of the 2008 Annual Meeting program and expects to receive approximately $3,000 on July 1 as the 2008 – 2009 operating allocation from APHA.  This brings the anticipated balance going into the Annual Meeting to $6,981.

This fiscal year, repeating the pattern of the last three fiscal years, fundraising for the Section continues to slow.  Section leadership is anxious to hear from Section members regarding fundraising ideas and opportunities.
