Public Health in a Hospital?
Are you a public health person working in a hospital setting? Do you feel like you're the only one and would like someone to talk to? If you do then please consider joining our group. At the APHA Annual Meeting in San Diego, a small group of public health professionals gathered to discuss our experiences working in a hospital. We discovered we all face challenges of trying to market population health concepts and approaches in a typically individualistic treatment setting. We commiserated about how we have no support network and would benefit from meeting and talking with others in similar circumstances. We also thought we might want to do a brief review of what public health in a hospital looks like now and start working on how we'd like it to look in the future. If any of these ideas resonate with you, or if you have something to add to this beginning conversation, please contact me at terry.fisher@hitchcock.org.
