The third annual Syndromic Surveillance Conference, to be held Nov. 3-4, 2004, in Boston, provides health care professionals an opportunity to learn the most current trends in syndromic surveillance. Key issues to be addressed include: innovative uses of syndromic surveillance data; aberration detection methods; evaluation methods and metrics; public health practice; standards and privacy issues. Last year’s conference attracted nearly 500 public and private health officials throughout the country. The conference program committee is co-chaired by senior staff of the New York Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene and the U.S. Dept. of Defense Walter Reed Army Institute of Research.
