I am pleased to serve on the APHA Epidemiology Section Council and will help to ensure a proactive and timely agenda for the discipline of epidemiology. We need to foster innovation in our field through more encouragement of cross-disciplinary dialogue, interdisciplinary research initiatives and strong mentoring and training programs. The Section will need to be responsive to the global challenges we face.
