Trade and Health Forum Activities at the Denver Annual
Meeting
Environment Section members are invited to attend the activities
of the Trade and Health Forum this year in Denver. The Forum was established in 2005 to bring
together members from various sections who were concerned about the effect that
trade and trade policy have on public health.
Trade and trade policy have broad ramifications for
environmental health, including pollution and chemical exposures due to the
expansion and restructuring of agricultural and industrial production, water privatization and distribution, trade
in dangerous products or waste, and limitations on governments’ ability to set protective regulations as a condition
of many bilateral and multi-lateral trade agreements.
