Chiropractic Health Care Section Communications Chair
APHA Chiropractic Health Care (CHC) Section members and leadership had an outstanding presence at the Association of Chiropractic Colleges Educational Conference and Research Agenda Conference (ACC-RAC) which was held in Las Vegas, March 19-20. The mid-year meeting was held on Saturday, March 20 during the breakfast session so that all CHC members and ACC RAC attendees could participate.
Dr. Paul Dougherty introduced the keynote speaker, APHA Executive Director, Dr. Georges Benjamin, who started the conference off on a very positive note. Dr. Jason Napuli organized the APHA CHC booth and recruited CHC members to man the booth. Attendees who visited the booth were informed about APHA and were encouraged to join the CHC Section. There were many excellent scientific platform and poster presentations as well as workshops that focused on chiropractic and public health.
The ACC-RAC public health workshops included:
· Back and Spinal Pain: a Public Health Priority by Drs. Will Evans, Jason Bartlett, Paul Dougherty, and Rick Branson.
· How to Become a Community Health Leader by Drs. Rod Floyd, Will Evans, Georgina Pearson, and Michael Ramcharan.
· Taking Care of Our Geriatric Population by Drs. Paul Dougherty, Cheryl Hawk, and Lisa Killinger.
The ACC-RAC public health-focused scientific sessions included the following presentations:
