The autumn Gerontological Health Newsletter contains a variety of announcements, recent publications, and new grant awards. Please note Rick Fortinsky’s report on the Task Force on Aging. We appreciate reports from the field, such as the new publications in financial gerontology and transgender aging referenced here. Finally, the Newsletter reports items of particular interest for the November APHA Annual Meeting. These include our Section raffle and the recommendation to secure absentee ballots for elections.
The Newsletter is what we make of it. Before each of the three submission dates (January, May, August), we (through APHA) send an announcement seeking submissions. The regulars (Steve Wallace, Gerry Eggert, Susan Miller, and a few others) always come through, but it would be great to see wider representation. The Newsletter could be a good venue for brief book reviews, reports from the field, and a lot more “good and welfare” (awards, relocations, and related news). I may tap a few of our loyal readers to serve as subeditors in charge of particular content areas. Any takers?
Thanks to Tina Bhargava for preparing this issue. May you have a productive autumn.
