Lisa Belongia and Taryann Witten of Virginia Commonwealth University and the TranScience Research Institute have recently completed a manuscript entitled: "We Don't Have That Kind of Client Here: Institutionalized Bias Against and Resistance to Transgender Aging Research and Training in Elder Care Facilities." The manuscript describes the bias faced when trying to conduct research and to institute sensitivity training for elder care facilities staff. The book "Service Delivery to Rural Older Adults: Research, Policy, and Practice," by R. Turner Goins and John A. Krout was published in August 2006. Information covered includes: health services and related policy issues; new changes to the Medicare program and how these changes are met with regard to rural health care delivery; important selected services in rural America, including informal caregiving, housing, and transportation; enhancing health care delivery through technology and public policies; and remarks about service delivery in rural areas.
Ravishankar Jayadevappa and Sumedha Chhatre of the University of Pennsylvania recently completed an article entitled: "Medicare Part D and Competitiveness."
