1.  Task Force on Aging Session at APHA Annual Meeting


Plan to attend the APHA Task Force on Aging-sponsored session in Boston!  The title of this year’s session is: A Great Society for Older Americans:  Have Promises Been Kept?” (Session #4200.1, Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 2:30-4:00 p.m.)  The Gerontological Health Section is a co-sponsor for this session.  Hope to see you there!

2.  Healthy Aging Series in The Nation’s Health Wins National Award!


 Kim Krisberg, senior editor for The Nation’s Health, has won a 2006 Clarion Award from the Association for Women in Communication, for her three-part series on healthy aging that appeared in the March, May, and June/July 2005 issues of the APHA newspaper.  The Task Force on Aging and the Gerontological Health Section helped Kim with her research for this award-winning series.  Read more details in the September 2006 issue of The Nation’s Health (page 4). 


 


3.  Task Force on Aging Annual Business Meeting


The Task Force on Aging will hold its annual Business Meeting on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, from 2:00-3:30 p.m. during the APHA Annual Meeting.  If you have any issues that you would like to be addressed at this Business Meeting, please contact Rick Fortinsky.
