Alcohol Taxes Reduce Excessive Drinking, Says Community Guide
A new community guide release on systematic review on alcohol taxes demonstrates their impact on reducing excessive drinking. The U.S. Task Force on Community Preventive Services recommends alcohol excise taxes for public health purposes to reduce alcohol consumption and alcohol-related harms, such as alcohol-impaired driving, motor vehicle crashes and fatalities, and deaths from cirrhosis of the liver.
