Membership Update:   After a decrease in membership during 2005 and 2006, ATOD numbers are rising again.  Our peak membership years were 2001-2004, when we had over 1,000 members.  Last November we recorded only 932 members.  However, as of August 31, 2007, we had 980 members.  This is great news because the number of sessions we are allotted at the Annual Meeting is determined by our membership size.   We hope that the upcoming meeting in Washington, D.C. pushes this number above 1,000 once again. 

ATOD Section Booth:  Once again our Section is sponsoring a booth in the Exhibition Hall of the Annual Meeting.  Last year we distributed the ATOD Schedule of Sessions and featured member work at our booth.  We will distribute the ATOD Schedule of Sessions at the booth again this year!  Please visit our booth and pick up the schedule, meet some of our leadership and members, and volunteer to participate in Section activities. 

To Our New Members:  Welcome to our Section!  I will try to personally welcome you by e-mail prior to the Annual Meeting in November.  I encourage you to become more active in our Section by attending our business meetings, and I extend a warm invitation to our Social Hour (Monday, Nov. 5, 6:30-8 p.m.) and to our Awards Ceremony and Annual Meeting (Tuesday, Nov. 6, 6:30-8 p.m.).  Details about these meetings and events are available online at APHA.
