  • Scientific Sessions - The Annual Meeting consists of more than 1,000 scientific sessions, roundtables, poster sessions, institutes and panel discussions at which over 5,000 scientific papers will be presented. Don't miss a thing!   • APHA Learning Institutes - Full and half-day educational programs designed to provide an in-depth learning experience in the latest public health trends and topics (additional fees apply).
  • Opening General Session - The Opening General Session will kick off the Annual Meeting on Sunday, Nov. 2 at noon. Don't miss attorney and spokesperson on leadership and public issues Sarah Weddington, internationally acclaimed epidemiologist Michael Marmot and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino.
  • Closing General Session - The Closing General Session will take place Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 2:30pm. This year’s meeting theme “Think Global, Act Local” provides an excellent opportunity to explore the health of native people. Keynote Speaker, Evan Tlesla Adams, will share his experience as British Columbia’s first-ever aboriginal health physician advisor.

    The APHA Social Media Lab will provide attendees with technical assistance and information on best practices for use of new media. The Social Media lab will take place Monday and Tuesday in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
