Sign Language Interpreters
If you require a sign language interpreter, please submit an ASL Request Form no later than September 18, 2013. A final schedule of sessions is due October 4, 2013.
Use the personal scheduler function, available June 3, to help arrange your schedule. Select the sessions you wish to attend and submit a printed copy of your personal schedule with the ASL Request Form.
On-site requests for interpreters can be made at the Accessibly Booth in the registration area; however, APHA cannot guarantee that the sign language provider will be able to accommodate the request without advance notice.
The Opening and Closing General Sessions will have sign language interpreters assigned to the program.
Assistive Listening Devices A limited number of assistive listening devices will be available. There is no charge for the use of these devices, available on a first-come, first-served basis. This technology generally involves the installation of "transmitters" in the sessions you wish to attend. Sound is transmitted to headphones provided to the attendees.
It is suggested that you submit your Assistive Listening Device Form in advance of the Annual Meeting. Please email the form to access@apha.org.
Arrangements can be made onsite, but keep in mind that 24 hour advance notice is required in order to provide technicians with sufficient time to install the devices. Onsite requests can be made through the AVMG Audio Visual Office at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (Room 204A).
