American Sign Language Interpreters (ASL)
The APHA Opening and Closing General Sessions and APHA Special Sessions will have an ASL interpreter assigned to the program. Interpreters can also be arranged for deaf and hard of hearing registrants attending or presenting at the Annual Meeting.
Please outline your preliminary schedule indicating your anticipated needs for an interpreter. Preliminary schedule must be submitted in late September so that appropriate interpreter staffing can be reserved. An ASL Request Form, must be submitted to APHA in order to reserve interpreters.
Final schedules should be confirmed in October
Please use the personal scheduler function to assist you in arranging your schedule. Simply select the sessions you wish to attend and then print out a copy of your personal schedule and submit it along with the ASL Request Form.
On-site requests for interpreters can be made through the APHA convention office; however, APHA cannot guarantee that the sign language provider will be able to accommodate the request without advance notice.
