Transportation Issues from the Public Health Perspective

 

Pedestrians crossing a street.Transportation decisions affect our lives, economy and health. We all need to use various modes of transportation to get to work or school, to access healthy foods at grocery stores and markets, and to participate in countless other activities every day. Yet too many of us are negatively impacted by unfair transportation decisions that hurt public health. The resources below provide additional information on the links between public health, equity and transportation and APHA’s advocacy efforts to ensure that transportation policy helps, rather than hinders, public health.
