APHA Applauds Inclusion of Health Reform Fund in President’s Budget

Washington, D.C., February 26, 2009 – “The American Public Health Association (APHA) joins other leading health organizations, members of Congress and families across the nation in applauding the $634 billion reserve fund dedicated to health reform.

 

“Along with the continued emphasis on prevention, the inclusion of health reform funds in the president’s budget signals the commitment of the Obama administration to ensuring that everyone in our nation has access to the services needed to stay healthy.

 

“The president’s budget builds on the success of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program in providing coverage to millions of children and is an important next step in the health reform process. APHA looks forward to working with the administration to establish public health as the foundation of a functioning health system and a healthy America.”
