The WVU Office for Public Health Practice in the Department of Community Medicine is hosting the Public Health Grand Rounds, live on Wednesday, February 3 from noon – 1 p.m. at the HSC Learning Center room 1909. The speaker will be Bruce W. Adkins, MS, PA, Director, Division of Tobacco Prevention, West Virginia Bureau for Public Health. His presentation, “Ifs, Ands, or BUTTs: An update on Tobacco Prevention and Cessation in West Virginia” will give attendees an understanding of the devastation and economic cost of tobacco addiction in West Virginia, some of the new tobacco products introduced to West Virginia, and learn how to obtain further education on tobacco use cessation. This program is designed for public health faculty, staff, students, physicians, nurses, dentists, other healthcare professionals, and anyone interested in the ongoing research in the field of public health.
