The program will focus on development of standard mold protocols considering moisture dynamics, occupant sensitivity, analytical techniques, use, misuse and interpretation of microbial testing, response options and verification. Critiques of existing guidelines, discussion of litigation methodology and new technologies are also welcome. The Conference format will include the following four sessions with example topics listed:
• Assessment – building inspection techniques, moisture evaluation
• Testing – sampling and analytical procedures; new technologies; data interpretation
• Health – health effects; screening procedures; causation; susceptibility
• Remediation – removal/treatment options; site control; personal protection; verification
Roundtable discussions will encourage audience participation and solicit recommendations for protocol development, prioritizing research needs and suggesting new consensus standards for development by ASTM Committee D22.
