The National Haitian American Health Alliance (NHAHA) is pleased to announce its 9th annual conference on Haitian Health, on October 18 -19, 2012 in Washington, D.C. at the Catholic University of America.

The conference this year is entitled:
Globalization and Health Equity Policy: A Framework for 21st Century Haiti

NHAHA has for the past two years delved into post-earthquake health challenges of Haiti. Combining lessons learned from Haiti and the health status of Haitians in the US, the 9th annual conference seeks to examine immigration and other social determinants of health to inform global policies relative to achieving health equity for poor countries and minority/ immigrant populations. We believe that Haiti can offer a unique reference for gauging the success of global health policies in the fight for health equity.

In keeping with our 2010-2020 overreaching theme, "Haiti Health into the next Decade", this year's conference will begin the planning phase of this process and bring global health luminaries and leading experts to discuss health care policy from national, international and global perspectives.

NHAHA is inviting health professionals from around the world to participate, including: health-care providers, community organizers, program managers, policy-makers, researchers and advocates, faith-based organizations, regional and international governmental representatives, policy analysts, policy makers, civil society and regional media representatives.
