Giorgio Piccagli, PhD, MPH, is an independent consultant, active in population health planning, organization assessment and performance management, policy negotiation, and dispute resolution for more than 25 years. His career has included community, academic and government organizations, urban and rural settings, teaching, research and administration. He has held appointments in public health, medicine, social welfare, education, business, and law; his work is often interdisciplinary and intersectoral.
Dr. Piccagli currently trains public health scholars, community members and law students in mediation and negotiation; and has been instrumental in the training of Baldrige National Quality Award examiners. Prior to the Executive Board, he has served in leadership positions in APHA’s Health Administration Section; the California-North Public Health Association, an APHA affiliate; Equal Opportunity Committee (EHOC); as well as numerous organization boards. Dr. Piccagli earned his SB in Economics, at MIT and his PhD, Sociology, University of Chicago. He attended University of California, Berkeley where he received his MPH and was a NIMH Postdoctoral Fellow.
