Join the APHA summer Public Health Action (PHACT) Campaign!

This summer, APHA is mobilizing members to educate legislators and candidates running for office about the need to include public health in the health reform debate and to support public health prevention measures. We should use this opportunity to place more attention on global health issues.  In addition, with the passage or PEPFAR 2 reauthorization, please use this time to thank your senators and representatives for their support of this crucial bill. 
 
During the month of August, APHA is asking us to schedule meetings with our legislators in their district offices, participate in town hall meetings hosted by these legislators, and seek opportunities to ask questions of candidates running for office. If you are willing to meet with your Congressional representative during the summer, you should call right away to schedule an appointment, because their schedules fill up fast. Don’t know how to do this? Don’t know when your representative will be having town hall meetings? IH Section Meetings 2008 in San Diego

Mid-Year Meeting of CBPHC Working Group at the Global Health Council Meeting Friday May 30, 2008 at 11:30. Site Regency Ballroom. Omni Sheraton Hotel.
Meet at 11.30am for preliminary discussions Main meeting nearby at 12 noon. Please come along to receive an update on our activities and to have input into the planning for our annual Pre-APHA workshop. Note also that we are presenting the latest on our Review at the 9:45am Session B1 Diplomat Ballroom. We hope you can come to the Global Health Council meeting it should be great for CBPHC promotion.
